Spriglet App

How it works, and how it looks

A calm, cosy mobile app for ADHD brains. This document explains how the game works and how we want it to look, so anyone helping build the character or the worlds has everything they need in one place.

What it is

Spriglet helps with the hardest part of getting things done for an ADHD brain: starting, and then staying. You do one small real-life task, and your little character (the Spriglet) does a whimsical version of it beside you. For doing it, you earn a piece to place in a small floating-island world you build up over time.

The whole feeling is gentle. No streaks, no guilt, no pile of overdue tasks, nothing ever goes red. Skipping is completely fine. It has to feel lovely to open on someone’s worst day.

How the game works

The core loop

  • You see one small task (wash a few dishes, put a wash on, answer an email).
  • You do it in real life, then tap a gentle button.
  • Your Spriglet does a whimsical version of the same task in its world.
  • You earn a piece and place it yourself, so your world quietly grows, a bit like a gentle Minecraft.
  • No punishment, ever. “Give me another” just moves on.

Zoom in, zoom out

Worlds hang in the sky as small floating islands. You swipe between them and tap one to zoom in, and that is where you see the Spriglet and do a task. Each world starts nearly bare and fills up with the pieces you earn, so calm and sparse is on purpose, and there is always a clear space for the Spriglet.

How it should look

Soft and cosy, like Monument Valley: clean shapes, calm colours with real life in them (not muted, not garish), and lots of gentle space, light enough to run beautifully on a phone.

On the low-poly style: we mean smooth-shaded, rounded, soft low poly, like Monument Valley, not the faceted, angular, crystalline kind. The geometry stays simple and lean, but the shading is smooth and the forms are rounded, so everything reads soft and calm rather than sharp and blocky. Think Monument Valley and Alto’s Odyssey: soft light, gentle shadows, matte pastel materials.

The character: Spriglet

The Spriglet was designed by Gee, our co-founder. It is a tall, quirky little leafy sprout: a slender stalk body, leaves sprouting from the head, a gentle friendly face, thin little arms with curly tendril hands, and little legs and feet. Keep all of that personality, and make it cute, soft and simple, light enough to read clearly when small on a phone.

The same friend, dressed for each world

The Spriglet stays recognisably itself in every world, but restyles to match the biome: leafy in the forest, coral and seaweed in the sea, crystal in the crystal world, and so on.

Please note: the animation and the biome variants are references for the feel, shape, movement and how it restyles. They are AI-generated, so please model your own clean, smooth low-poly versions. We do not use AI-generated art in the app itself.

The worlds

Each world is a small self-contained diorama sitting on a floating, pointy rock against a soft plain sky. Calm and simple, a bit like Monument Valley. Different biomes over time: forest, ocean, crystal, desert, snow, and more.

Build worlds modular, not baked. Zoomed out, a world can look complete and lovely. But zoomed in, each world is a sparse base island plus a kit of separate, placeable pieces (trees, plants, rocks, little structures). The player builds up their own biome over time by earning and placing those pieces, so the world grows as they go. Please deliver the pointy-rock base and the separate parts we can arrange inside the app, not one sealed scene. This is the most important technical point.

World ideas

Every world is the same floating pointy-rock island with its own palette, mood and Spriglet restyle, built from the same modular kit. Five exist now, with more to grow into over time.

  • Forest. Mossy greens and warm stone. Calm woodland with little trees, ferns and paths. The Spriglet is leafy and green. The gentle default world.
  • Ocean. Soft teals and sandy coral. A reef diorama with coral, shells and still water. The Spriglet grows seaweed and coral fronds. Fresh and cooling.
  • Crystal. Lilacs, pinks and a pale glow. Soft glowing gems and quiet facets. The Spriglet takes on a crystalline shimmer. A touch of magic.
  • Desert at dusk. Warm terracotta and a dusty rose sky. Sculptural cacti and smooth dunes with lots of open space. The Spriglet grows little succulent leaves. Spacious and sunset-lit.
  • Snowdrift pines. Pale icy blue, white and a warm cabin glow. Frosted pines and soft snow mounds. The Spriglet wears a knitted scarf with frosted leaf-tips. Hushed and cosy-cold.
  • Wildflower meadow. Buttery yellows, soft pinks and fresh green. An open flower field with clumps, tufts, a lone blossoming tree and a little fence. The Spriglet wears a flower crown and blooms. Sunny and welcoming.
  • Firefly marsh. Deep plum-navy night, warm lantern gold and drifting fireflies. The one nighttime world. The Spriglet carries a tiny glowing lantern and its tendrils shimmer. Quiet and magical.
  • Amber wood. Burnt orange, russet and gold with drifting autumn leaves and tiny pumpkins. The Spriglet’s leaves turn autumnal. Warm and harvest-y, and with snow it completes the seasons.
  • Blossom terrace. Soft pinks, warm wood, falling petals and little arched bridges. The Spriglet sprouts blossom instead of leaves. Slow and springlike.
  • Cloudtop. Pale sky pastels, cotton-cloud platforms, a faint rainbow and wind chimes. The Spriglet goes light and airy with fluffy tufts. Floaty and weightless.

The palette

Soft and pastel, but with life, close to Monument Valley rather than washed-out. Each world leans on its own few colours over the shared soft sky, with warm coral and gold accents and a deep plum to anchor everything. Text is deep plum, never pure black.

Technical

  • Smooth-shaded low poly, mobile-optimised. Lean, rounded geometry with smooth shading (not faceted or angular), small textures, light enough to run smoothly on a phone.
  • Modular. Base plus separate placeable pieces, with clean pivots so they arrange neatly.
  • Files: the editable Blender source plus FBX and GLB.
  • Character: the Spriglet rigged, with a gentle idle (a little breathing, a small eye movement, a smile).
  • Style: soft, calm, cute, smooth and rounded. Nothing glossy, busy, high-contrast or angular.

Smooth-shaded low poly · Mobile-ready · Modular kit · Blender + FBX + GLB · Rigged + idle

Working with us

This is a long-term thing, with many worlds, characters and animations over time, so we want someone to build a proper relationship with. To keep it clear:

  • We pay your fee for the work.
  • We credit you in the app, your name shown as the artist.
  • You are welcome to show the work in your own portfolio.
  • We keep full ownership of the final files, to use and edit in the app.
